-Life at the White house has been all about work lately. Work we are being paid for and work of the unpaid variety. We’ve both been busy at our jobs, but on the weekends it seems we’ve taken our home on as a job. We knew it had to happen at some point…you don’t just own a home and not maintain it, at least if you care about it.
-Since we’ve been here we have::
•moved in
•set up a guest room, office and our room as well as the dining room, kitchen and living room
•put temporary blinds up in the windows that were missing them
•put permanent blinds in the windows with the temporary blinds
•replaced the kitchen sink faucet
•made the third bedroom into a craft/reading room
•started the yard work
-This last point seems so simple. But oh man…so far we’ve killed all the weed in the back and mowed it (JW did that actually), de-weeded the planter box, uprooted 2 of 4 ugly rose bushes, demolished an ugly spider infested tree mowed the front yard, discovered we have gopher(s) and begun to demolish ugly bush number two, also infested with spiders. There is SO much yard work to be done it’s insane. We have to till the back yard, decide whether we want to install sprinklers, tear out the bad grass in the front, figure out how to kill the gopher, get our veggie garden going plant something in my planter box (aka my garden..starting small is good for me gardening wise, and a bunch of other stuff. *sigh* we shall see how it all goes. So far we’ve had a lot of help from JW’s BFF, TA.
-In other news, we received our vouchers for the honeymoon! Yay!! We are thinking of going in October as a one year anniversary. I am currently trying to figure out how to make us both curriers to get to London for the midnight release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, part two. It’s the only way I’ll be able to go to this thing like I’ve wanted to since I was nine. Wish me luck.
